What Is the CNC Method?
CR Lab, a leading company in the field of trichology, hasalways beencommittedto scientific research aimed at identifying new solutions for the prevention and treatment of hair problems. Among these is theCNC(Natural Hair Contact)method, which was the first revolutionary method patented by CR Lab forsignificant hair loss issues.
It is anon-invasive hair restoration systemthat involves creatingcustomhairprosthesestailored to the needs of each individual patient.
CNC integratesuntreated, natural, virgin European hair into areas affected by thinning and baldness.
Starting withthe creation of a model that highlights theshapeand contours of the client’s area to be thickened, a hair prosthesis is crafted. Based on this prosthesis—made ofdermatologically tested polymeric materialsdesigned to enhancecomfort and stability—real hair fromdonors with characteristics similar to the client’s is grafted onto it. The hair is inserted manually, one strand at a time, following the client’s natural hair pattern and respecting its original distribution, angle, and density. Once completed, the hair prosthesis is secured to the scalp using special adhesives that have been dermatologically tested at the Cosmetology Center of the University of Ferrara (certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, FDA).
The CNC Process
The creation of an epithesis involves 39 steps, which can be summarized into 6 key stages

STEP 1 – MEASURING THE PARAMETER
First, the bald area on the client’s head is identified and examined, and a mold is made to faithfully reproduce its physical characteristics.

STEP 2 – RECONSTRUCTION OF THE SKULL
Specialized software records all the data from the cast taken at Cesare Ragazzi Laboratories and creates an exact replica of the client's skull.

STEP 3 – SELECTING AND MIXING THE HAIR
To ensure the color matches the customer’s perfectly, natural hair is carefully selected until the ideal blend is achieved. For its exclusive CNC® system, the company uses European, unprocessed hair because it looks more natural and is easier to style.

STEP 4 – PREPARING THE BASE
The process begins by coloring the polymer base, which was previously prepared in the laboratories. Next, a replica of the client’s skull is used to assemble the appropriate support onto which the hair will be attached.

STEP 5 - GRAFTING
Hair implantation is done by hand: a technician inserts the hairs one by one onto the polymer base, following the distribution, angle, and direction of the client's natural hair.

STEP 6 - INTEGRATION
The procedure is performed at one of the CR Lab - Cesare Ragazzi Laboratories centers, where the client’s final styling is completed.
